Experts Needed for Pediatric Weight Management Evidence Based Practice Guideline
The ADA has an opportunity for a new evidence analysis project on Pediatric Weight Management. They are currently seeking candidates for the expert workgroup in the area of pediatrics and weight management to update the Pediatric Weight Management Evidence Based Practice Guideline.
More of the project details are below:
- The project will focus on answering pertinent questions using ADA’s systematic evidence analysis process. Some of the workgroup responsibilities are below:
- Finalize questions for evidence analysis on the topic
- Work with trained evidence analysts, review and approve evidence-based summaries and conclusion statements
- Rate conclusions based on an evidence grading scale
- Review, finalize and approve the evidence-based information for publication on the Evidence Analysis Library (www.adaevidencelibrary.com)
- Participate in teleconferences (~one or two per month) and respond to emails
This is a new evidence analysis project with a current focus on summarizing research for incorporation in the ADA position paper on this topic. The expected timeline is 12-15 months. ADA evidence analysis projects are supported in various ways and this project is sponsored by ADA.
The Workgroup Selection Sub-Committee will be reviewing candidate information and selecting the expert workgroup based on the following criteria (note: not all are needed to be selected):
- Participation in research
- Participation in research that pertains to workgroup topic
- Authoring of articles in peer reviewed journals
- Authoring of articles in peer reviewed journals that pertain to workgroup topic
- Practitioner experience
- Practitioner experience that pertains to workgroup topic
- Presentation of ideas in public forum (lectures, abstract presentations, etc.)
- Experience on past workgroups (ADA or other)
