School nutrition bills requiring our support

Two bills S934 the Child Nutrition Promotion and School Lunch Protection Act and HR 1324 (a similar bill) give the US Dept of Agriculture authority to establish nutrition standards for all foods sold in schools (not just the cafeteria per current law).  

Contact your state’s representative (don’t know who? check http://www.eatright.org/Members/content.aspx?id=8847, click grassroots manager).   If your state representative or senator is a member of the committees that are currently sponsoring bills for child nutrition, definitely contact them and urge them to support these bills. See the link below to find out what committees of which your state representatives are members .
