Leadership Development in Clinical Pediatric Nutrition
We are pleased to announce an exciting e-learning certificate program entitled ‘Leadership Development in Clinical Pediatric Nutrition.’ The online pediatric nutrition program uses clinical scenarios and activities. The next program begins in August 2010. The Indiana University (IU) Medical Center is an established center of excellence in neonatal and pediatric nutrition. The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, IU School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and Department of Pediatrics, IU School of Medicine, have collaborated for more than 25 years in: * Education for neonatal-pediatric nutrition fellows and graduate nutrition students, * The development and implementation of innovative practice models for nutrition services within James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis, Indiana and the surrounding region, * Research and scholarship efforts. The key nutrition faculty (Karyl Rickard, PhD, RD, Deborah Abel, MS, RD, James Lemons, MD) of the Leadership Education Excellence in Pediatric Nutrition Program are recognized as leaders in the field of neonatal and pediatric nutrition. The e-learning Leadership Development in Pediatric Nutrition (Graduate Study) uses the same didactic content (4 graduate courses in pediatric; 12 graduate credits) as the pediatric nutrition fellowship; however, dietitians throughout the country now can participate primarily through an online modality. This e-learning program is partially supported by HRSA’s MCHB.
