Are you an Expert in home visitation? The MCH Nutrition Council needs your help!

By Liz Toolan - Posted on 30 April 2010

In response to the new Health Reform funding for new Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood home visitation programs, the MCH Nutrition Council of the Association of State and Territorial Public Health Nutrition Directors is compiling a list of model programs and expert contacts for nutrition in home visitation models to be used to support the inclusion of nutrition services in these programs. The criteria for model programs as outlined by federal mandates include:

- a clear consistent home visitation model that has been in existence for at least three years
- is research-based (grounded in relevant empirically-based knowledge)
- linked to program determined outcomes
- is associated with a national organization or institution of higher education that has comprehensive home visitation standards that ensure high quality service delivery,  continuous program quality improvement and sustained positive outcomes.
If you work with or are familiar with a home visitation model that has a strong nutrition component and meets these criteria, please send us your contact information and any appropriate program information that you can share. We are happy to share our results with the list serv once it's compiled.

Thanks for your assistance with this important effort.
