CDR allowing RDs to “rollover” up to 15 excess CPEUs

At its February 2011 meeting, CDR approved a process for allowing RDs to “rollover” up to 15 excess CPEUs (up to 10 CPEUs for DTRs) earned in the last 75 days of their current recertification cycle to the next cycle.  CPEUs to be transferred must meet ALL of the following requirements:

We happily share the news that Joanne Arena, MS, RD (Windsor Locks, CT) received first place recognition for her Dynamic Initiative in Dietetics Practice and Education display entitled “Incorporating Motivational Interviewing (MI) Training in a Health Care Setting”. This display was presented during the Dynamic Initiatives in Dietetics Practice and Education session conducted during FNCE 2011 in San Diego. As noted by Nora Nyland, PhD, RD, CD, Chair, Council on Future Practice, this is the third year for conducting it, which recognizes practitioner contribution to the profession of dietetics. Joanne was selected by her peers to receive this recognition. The abstract for the display follows here:

 The Call for Abstracts for the 2012 (ADA) Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo (FNCE) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, October 6-9, 2012, will open January 3 and close February 23, 2012

Abstracts on research and project or program reports will be presented during a Research and Practice Innovations session or poster session at FNCE.

New ADA position paper-- “Nutrition Intervention in the Treatment of Eating Disorders”

ADA’s position paper on “Nutrition Intervention in the Treatment of Eating Disorders” has been published in the August issue of JADA.

This position paper was written by registered dietitians Amy D. Ozier, PhD, RD, LDN, assistant professor of family, consumer and nutrition sciences at Northern Illinois University; and Beverly W. Henry, PhD, RD, LDN, associate professor of family, consumer and nutrition sciences at NIU.
