1The Nutrition Care Process and the Pediatric Dietitian: A Step Forward?

The American Dietetic Association (ADA) adopted the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) in 2003 in order to provide Registered Dietitians (RDs) with a framework for critical thinking and decision making in all practice settings. The NCP is a four-step process that includes nutrition assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition intervention, and nutrition monitoring and evaluation.

KIDS FIRST (KF) is a comprehensive, early intervention program of excellence for infants and young children with developmental delays and medical concerns. Parents and health professionals become partners through a trans-disciplinary approach to maintain and enhance optimal health, growth and development to allow each child to reach their maximum potential. KF integrates medical, therapeutic and education services into each child’s day.
