1Update on Nutrition for Pediatric Food Allergy

The incidence of immunoglobulin E (IgE) mediated food allergies (1) and other atopic diseases (2) like asthma and atopic dermatitis are on the rise. Currently, the only treatment is complete avoidance of all forms of the food when a child is newly diagnosed with one or more food allergies (FA) and pharmacological treatment during an allergic reaction.

As mentioned in the previous Post, we are now in the process of making some major changes to the website in order to make it more user-friendly to PNPG members. We have many ideas for the website, but our current server has limited us. With our transition to a new server, we will have a new look, a new way to navigate the website, and many more capabilities.

As I write this letter I am finishing my 8th month as PNPG Chair. It has been a time of much activity and intense work, and also a time to meet many of you for the f irst time or get to know you better. I have been asked countless times about what PNPG does for its members. My answer usually starts with "How much time do you REALLY have?" To put it simply, the answer is a LOT!
