PNPG Professional Development Stipend

The PNPG Professional Development Stipend was created to support the continuing education of PNPG members. Each year, the stipend will provide 4 members (2 in the fall and 2 in the spring) with funding to support attendance to pediatric specific professional development of their choice. The stipends will be distributed as a reimbursement of event registration and travel expenses, up to $750.

Who is Eligible:

1. Candidate must be a member of PNPG for at least 2 consecutive years prior to applying for a stipend. Exempt members include PNPG Executive Committee members, student members, and stipend awardees within the past 5 years.
2. Continuing education event must relate to pediatric nutrition and includes, but is not limited to, conferences, symposiums, and web-based certification and training programs.
3. Preference will be given to applications for attendance at the Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo and PNPG’s Pediatric Nutrition Symposium. 

Application Requirements:

1. Applicant’s contact information
2. Title and date of education event
3. Outline of event expenses include registration fee and anticipated travel costs
4. Resume or CV (may include volunteer and unpaid experience)
5. Original essay (up to 400 words) explaining how chosen educational event will help meet applicant’s professional goals
6. Acknowledgement that if selected to receive stipend, applicant will compose a short (~200-word) summary of educational event to be used for PNPG website, e-blast, and/or social media platforms
7. Acknowledgement that applicant has not received outside funding for selected educational event at time of application; and agreement that if outside funding is provided, applicant will notify PNPG chair via email for application to be removed from selection process.
